Description

Cocluen 80mg Tablets contain Valsartan, an antihypertensive medicine belonging to the angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) class.

Valsartan works by selectively blocking angiotensin II at AT1 receptors, reducing blood vessel constriction and helping lower blood pressure.

It is indicated for hypertension and may also be used in certain patients with heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction, according to the approved prescribing information.

Verified Therapeutic Indications

Dosage & Administration

The reference adult starting dose for hypertension is 80mg or 160mg once daily, with further adjustment according to response. Heart failure and post-myocardial infarction treatment use different starting doses and schedules.

Cocluen 80mg should be taken orally as prescribed, with or without food.

Possible Side Effects

Dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, fatigue and abdominal discomfort. Elevated potassium levels and changes in kidney function may occur.

Contraindications & Precautions

Avoid during pregnancy. Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to valsartan. Combining valsartan with aliskiren is contraindicated in patients with diabetes.
