Description

Rymoti 20mg Tablets contain Enalapril Maleate, a prescription medicine belonging to the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor class.

Enalapril reduces the formation of angiotensin II, allowing blood vessels to relax and helping lower blood pressure. Its effects on the renin-angiotensin system also contribute to its therapeutic role in certain heart failure conditions.

The 20mg strength provides an option for patients requiring higher maintenance doses as determined by their physician.

Enalapril is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and symptomatic congestive heart failure. It may also reduce progression to symptomatic heart failure in clinically stable patients with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction and a left ventricular ejection fraction of 35% or less.

In clinical studies of heart failure, Enalapril has been shown to improve survival and reduce hospitalization in appropriately selected patients.

Verified Therapeutic Indications

  • Hypertension.

  • Symptomatic congestive heart failure.

  • Prevention of symptomatic heart failure in selected patients with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction.

ENALAPRIL MALEATE tablet

Dosage & Administration

For adult hypertension, the reference usual dosage range is 10–40mg daily, taken once daily or in two divided doses.

For symptomatic heart failure, reference treatment begins at 2.5mg and is increased gradually according to response and tolerability. Doses up to 40mg daily in divided doses have been studied.

Rymoti 20mg is not the usual initial dose for heart failure. The physician must determine the appropriate dose and frequency, particularly for patients with renal impairment or those taking diuretics.

Possible Side Effects

  • Persistent dry cough.

  • Dizziness and headache.

  • Low blood pressure.

  • Fatigue or weakness.

  • Elevated potassium levels.

  • Changes in kidney function.

  • Rare but potentially life-threatening angioedema.

Contraindications & Precautions

Pregnancy: Enalapril carries a boxed warning for fetal toxicity and should be discontinued promptly when pregnancy is detected under medical guidance.

Angioedema: Contraindicated in patients with previous ACE inhibitor-associated angioedema and hereditary or idiopathic angioedema.

Drug interactions: Do not use concurrently with sacubitril/valsartan; a minimum 36-hour separation is required when switching between these treatments. Avoid combining enalapril with aliskiren in patients with diabetes.

Monitoring: Blood pressure, renal function, and potassium should be monitored as clinically appropriate.
