Description

Rycristyx 10mg Tablets contain Simvastatin, a lipid-lowering medicine belonging to the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor class, commonly called statins.

Simvastatin reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme. This increases LDL receptor activity, helping the body remove LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.

Simvastatin is used to manage elevated LDL cholesterol, primary hyperlipidemia and certain inherited lipid disorders. It is also prescribed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in appropriately selected patients with established cardiovascular disease or elevated coronary risk.

The 10mg strength is classified as low-intensity statin therapy and may be appropriate when a lower dose is clinically indicated.

Rycristyx 10mg is supplied in a 10-tablet pack by Amros Pharmaceuticals.
