Description
Keytarzi 150mg Tablets contain Irbesartan, a prescription antihypertensive medicine belonging to the angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) class.
Irbesartan blocks the effects of angiotensin II, allowing blood vessels to relax and reducing peripheral vascular resistance.
The 150mg strength is the usual recommended adult starting dose for hypertension under U.S. prescribing information.
Irbesartan is also indicated for diabetic nephropathy in hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes, elevated serum creatinine and proteinuria. However, the recommended reference dose for this indication is 300mg once daily.
Effective hypertension management helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications, including stroke and myocardial infarction.
