Description

Elclura 20mg Tablets contain Rosuvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor prescribed for managing elevated cholesterol and certain lipid disorders.

Rosuvastatin works by reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver and increasing LDL receptor activity, helping remove LDL cholesterol from circulation.

The 20mg strength is classified as high-intensity statin therapy and may be prescribed for patients requiring substantial LDL cholesterol reduction or cardiovascular risk management.

Treatment should be supported by appropriate dietary measures, lipid monitoring, and clinical assessment.

Indications: Primary hypercholesterolemia, familial hypercholesterolemia, selected lipid disorders, and cardiovascular risk reduction in eligible patients.

Dosage & Administration: Generally once daily, as prescribed. Dose selection depends on LDL cholesterol, cardiovascular risk, treatment response, and tolerability.

Precautions: Higher statin doses may increase the risk of muscle-related adverse effects. Consider renal function, liver disease, Asian ancestry, and drug interactions before prescribing.

Possible Side Effects: Muscle pain, headache, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and constipation. Rare serious reactions include myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
