Description

Cocluen 320mg Tablets contain Valsartan, a selective angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used for the management of hypertension.

Valsartan blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict. By reducing this activity, Valsartan helps relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

The 320mg strength represents the maximum recommended total daily adult dose in the U.S. prescribing information for hypertension. It may be prescribed when lower doses do not provide adequate blood pressure control and the patient tolerates dose escalation.

Managing hypertension is important for reducing the long-term risk of stroke, myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular complications.

Because Cocluen 320mg is a high-strength formulation, dose selection should be based on individual clinical assessment, blood pressure response, renal function and electrolyte levels.

Verified Therapeutic Indications

  • Hypertension requiring individualized antihypertensive treatment.

  • Reduction of cardiovascular risk associated with effective blood pressure control.

Valsartan also has approved indications for selected patients with heart failure or following myocardial infarction. However, those treatment regimens generally involve divided doses and should not be interpreted as routine once-daily administration of a 320mg tablet.

Dosage & Administration

For adult hypertension, 320mg once daily is the upper end of the recommended dosage range in U.S. reference labeling. It is not the usual starting dose.

For heart failure and post-myocardial infarction treatment, the maximum studied total daily dose is 320mg in divided doses, typically up to 160mg twice daily.

Cocluen 320mg should be used only according to the prescribing physician’s instructions.
