Description

Cocluen 160mg Tablets contain Valsartan, a selective angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to manage hypertension and certain cardiovascular conditions.

Valsartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, allowing blood vessels to relax and reducing vascular resistance, which helps lower blood pressure.

The 160mg strength may be prescribed for patients requiring a higher antihypertensive dose based on clinical response. It may also be incorporated into treatment regimens for selected patients with heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction.

The prescribed dosage and frequency depend on the condition being treated, kidney function, blood pressure response and patient tolerability.

Verified Therapeutic Indications

  • Hypertension.

  • Heart failure in selected adults.

  • Post-myocardial infarction management in clinically stable patients with left ventricular failure or dysfunction.

Dosage & Administration

For adult hypertension, Valsartan 160mg may be used once daily as an initial or adjusted dose. For heart failure or post-myocardial infarction treatment, reference maintenance regimens may use 160mg twice daily when tolerated.

The total daily dose and administration schedule must be selected by the treating physician.
